With a large customer base and vast amounts of data, the enterprise faced challenges in managing and analyzing data effectively. The traditional data warehouse architecture was not keeping up with the rapidly increasing data volumes, and the analytics team struggled with slow query times and limited flexibility.
To remain competitive, the enterprise needed a more modern and efficient way to store and analyze data. The analytics team needed faster query times, more flexibility, and a scalable solution that could handle the ever-increasing data volumes. The enterprise was also looking to save money on storage and processing costs.
After evaluating different options with the enterprise, We decided to adopt a data lakehouse architecture. This architecture combines the best of both worlds of data lakes and data warehouses. A data lakehouse is built on top of a cloud-based platform and includes several modern data technologies such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and AWS Glue.
We helped the enterprise with design and implement the new architecture and trained the analytics team on how to use it.
The new data lakehouse architecture is built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), which provides a scalable and cost-effective platform for storing and processing data. The data is stored in a raw, unprocessed format in the data lake, which allows for flexibility in processing and analysis. The data is then transformed and loaded into a structured format in the data warehouse, where it can be easily queried and analyzed.
